Nick Vandyke, our local candidate for the London Assembly, has spoken out about yesterday's attack on Chadwell Heath Baptist Church which shocked so many. As shown in a widely circulated video, the exterior of the church was attacked on Sunday afternoon by an individual who climbed up and pulled off the main central cross.
Nick says:
I'm relieved to see the perpetrator of this crime has been arrested by the police. There can be no place in our society for crimes against religion or places of worship. The church minister's compassion for the attacker is a commendable demonstration of forgiveness and understanding.
An individual was arrested at the scene and has been charged. The Metropolitan Police ask that "Any witnesses please call 101 quote cad 4071/18OCT. 323EA."
